Ryan Robinson
Hi, I’m Ryan Robinson, Milton CAT’s Scarborough, ME, service manager. Growing up in Maine, I spent a lot of time working on a potato farm and my family farm. I was in and around all sorts of heavy equipment. I developed a passion for equipment which I later was able to translate into my career at Milton CAT.
I studied mechanical engineering at UMaine, Orono. While in college, I worked at a construction company. After graduating, I went straight to Milton CAT in Brewer, ME. My first job there was assistant shop supervisor. I then was a field service dispatcher, followed by 11 years as a shop supervisor.
I’m a real believer in all the opportunities Milton CAT offers. I jumped at the chance to relocate to Scarborough to take my current position as service manager. I really enjoy helping people grow and succeed. One of the most rewarding parts of my job is watching people who come into Milton CAT with minimal experience transform into knowledgeable leaders. At Milton CAT, you're surrounded by people who help you succeed; you have all the resources and the facilities you need to do great work, and the parts availability has no equal.
As a manager, I take into account each individual's experience and level of knowledge. I believe it's very important to allow people to learn to act independently, because that grows their skills and their confidence. I definitely have an open-door policy. I want everyone to feel free to come to me with any issues or concerns.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my two daughters. I have a camp in northern Maine where I like to hunt and fish.
